Armed with a purple crayon and the desire to go for a walk in the moonlight, a very small boy named Harold draws himself a lovely adventure. Harold's world is a blank page, and as he thinks of things he needs or wants, he draws them into existence - so there is a boat when he finds himself sinking (in the ocean he drew accidentally), a picnic when he finds himself hungry, and a hot air balloon when he falls of the mountain. Then, tired, Harold draws himself into his room and into his bed. The wonderful story about imagination has been captivating children (and adults) for over 50 years.
